Creative process
When I started working on Barzakh's game art, I had a lot of ideas and things I wanted to express. Unfortunately, I shouldn't have chosen this course this semester before completing the Environment Design, Character Design, and Prop Design courses. But I still tried my best to complete the game art using all the knowledge I learned in the Digital Matte Painting course and the Sculpting course.
After hard work, I was able to complete basic character design and some simple environment and prop design. Due to the lack of hard surface modeling skills, I was unable to create original 3D hard surface assets (environments and complex props), so I focused on what I knew: soft surface modeling (sculpting).
I admit that my painting foundation is relatively weak. This is a long-term accumulation process. However, I only have very limited time in this semester to create a lot of things that I have never learned. So I played my expertise in 3D and created a workflow based on my current situation. This allows me to directly transfer most of the work of 2D painting, which belongs to the basic concept of the early stage, to the work of 3D finished products.
